Some happenings at TCL in the second term of academic year 2006/07.

There was a double baptism in the TCL chapel on Wednesday November 1st 2006.  The Reverend Thamara and Father Adrian's baby daughter Dihasa Medini and Bro. Prabahkar and Dharshini's toddler son Abelas were baptised in a ceremony led by Fr. Rex but participated in by the whole TCL community. We have introduced a new system for collecting recyclable plastics, glass and metal.  The old system involving large bins failed because they were filled with ordinary rubbish and people blamed each other.  So now we have bins for each household that are intended to be emptied every Sunday morning by the dairy farmer, Mr. Kularathne, shown above.  Things seem to be working so far. He then sells the glass, plastic and tin locally, which supplements his meagre income.
In October there was a three way cricket tournament in the college in which all took part including the principal's wife, Mrs Priya Jebanesan, seen hear taking guard against a fearsome attack.  The students take these events very seriously and are extremely competitive. The crowd looks anxiously on.  Brother Manoj is scoring.  In the end rain stopped play!!
