Some events at TCL, January - March 2006
| We are patrons of the college's Basil Jackson Theological Society. In January our Methodist colleague from UK, Dr. Elizabeth Harris, (Methodist Connexional Interfaith Officer) kindly interrupted her holiday in Sri Lanka to give a seminar on the subject of Interfaith Dialogue, in particular, the present Roman Catholic guidance on how to conduct it. The picture shows Elizabeth talking with students at supper. | Basil Jackson was the first Principal of the College between . His vital contribution to the life of TCL is marked annually on January 22nd.. This year's speaker was Father Paul Caspersz, SSJ, pictured above. His topic was the "Role of the Church in Asia" |

A joyful occasion was the confirmation of Chandra, the college housekeeper, the result of many years private study and church attendance. Many of the staff and students attended the service at which the Bishop of Kuranagula preached. |
Shramadana is traditional community work. To help maintain relations with the local village, some students and Rosemary helped dig a ditch for a new water pipeline. The picture shows the ground being broken first with a iron spike and then dug with "mamatis". Mamatis are excellent tools for digging and moving soil and are wielded with great expertise by the college gardeners. |
