A Quiet Day in Plantation Country

Rosemary helped lead a quiet day for members of St. Paul's Church, Kandy.  Father Jeffrey Abayasekera ( a retired priest living in Kandy and attached to St Paul's) is introducing Rosemary.

The theme she was given was  "Koinonia and our Search for Fuller Community "

The Quiet Day was attended by about 20 people and took place in a huge Plantation Bungalow which is used as a Retreat Centre.  It is situated high on a hill overlooking tea plantations and mountains.  Plantations often continue to be places where the Tamil tea pickers work very hard and are very poor. This one is privately owned by a local family and they aim to give the workers better conditions of living and service.
