Kandy Churches

Christ Church, home to Kandy's Tamil speaking Anglican congregation. St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Cathedral in Kandy town.
Inside Kandy Methodist Church in Yattinuwara Vidiya, home to the English and Sinhala congregations.

James's membership was transferred here and he was formally welcomed into fellowship on Sunday November 6th. Sometimes Rosemary has played the piano here for worship, and she preached here on Advent Sunday.

Outside Katukele Methodist Church, home to the Tamil congregation. Rosemary preached and our neighbour, Father Karu, led the service and translated her  sermon.

Also in the picture are Karu's wife, Jancy, son Emeth, Priya Jebanesan; friends from TCL.

This is the tower of the Presbyterian Church on the  busy D.S. Senanyake St. (formerly Trincomalee St.)  The picture is taken from the City Mission which was set up with the help of German mission partner some years ago.  TCL students conducted a service at the church in which the German happened to preach on his annual visit.   Here is the interior of the Anglican Church of St. John's, Gatambe, on the outskirts of Kandy, where the college service to open the new academic year was held on June 18th 2006.  The church is situated at the quiet end of the very busy Peradeniya Road.  At the beginning of each term the college community worships together in a local church.
