| At short notice we heard that the Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, was to visit the island. Of course, all good Anglicans were expected to turn up to various services, but Rosemary, ever conscious of the ecumenical imperative, also travelled to Kurunagala Cathedral on Tuesday May 8th 2007. The picture shows the Archbishop with Bishop Kumara, the Bishop of Kurunagala, a former Principal of the Theological College of Lanka. | More scenes from the service at Kurunagala. |
