More Wildlife November 2007 to January 2008 

A swarm of honey bees on the mango tree outside the TCL Mess Hall.  January 2nd 2008. They were there for a few days until a box was brought from the Ministry of Agriculture.  Now they have a hive and their honey can be harvested.

A herd of water buffalo seen from the  road on the way back from  Trincomalee 

January 21st 2008.

 A wild elephant that crossed the road ahead of us on the journey  to Trincomalee. January 20th 2008 Pelicans on a tank on the Puttalam to Anuradhapura. December 29th 2007
 A Sri Lanka grey langur monkey amongst the ruins of Anuradhapura. December 30th 2007  A very large millipede, a common sight on campus, although this one was picked up during a walk though a tea estate in Nuwara Eliya. November 17th 2007
Tuesday evening February 5th 2008:

A viper at TCL: see Another Day in the Life on the Website. Rosemary's hand is seen here with the snake she thought was dead...and then it moved!

Wednesday February 20th 2008:  Peradenyia Gardens: Spot the fruit bats sleeping in the trees.  There are thousands of these very large bats..
