The Valedictory Service and College Photo, Friday March 14th 2008.

At the end of the academic year, the Friday before Holy Week, the annual Valedictory service is held, the last service attended by the final year students before they leave.  It is a very emotional time for them as they leave their home of four years to take up their vocations often in very difficult places around the island.  Here the academic staff wash the feet of the students. The students are told to be lights  in the world.  Here Rosemary is giving candles to the female students and members of the Spouses' Class.
The students and those leaving from the Spouses' Class wait in the next door seminar hall for everyone to walk past and wish them well. Later on there was a community entertainment featuring many home grown acts including these young people in a sketch of their own devising.

The widest ever college photograph!  The teaching staff are in the front row including Faculty, visiting lecturers and language teachers, with all students and members of the Spouses' Class.
