A Break in UK 2007

Like last year we were fortunate to be able to return to UK to see our family and friends during the college's long vacation.  This year one of our first visits took us back to Caversham where we linked up with Fr. Jebi, the TCL Principal, and Fr. Keerthi, who were coming to the end of a Partnership Visit to UK.  Our friends Lesley and Peter  Boardley very kindly hosted a most enjoyable meal. Photo taken in the Boardley's garden: Monday evening May 14th 2007 Our friends Jennie, Simon, Lottie and Robert very kindly hosted a fabulous party on Saturday May 19th 2007 for our friends to mark our tenth wedding anniversary (one month early) and Rosemary's 50th birthday (8 months late).  Friends from different periods of our lives were there, in particular, from  Swindon and Caversham days.  This picture shows James with his two brothers Peter and Mark, his cousins Robert and Judith, and Judith's husband Emanuele and son Giovanni.  A dangerous concentration of bald men.
Rosemary's parents, George and Marjorie, are in good health and still able to provide excellent board and lodgings for us in Watford.  This picture is taken at Stoke Bruene on the Grand Union Canal when we went away for a couple of nights near Winslow in Buckinghamshire, May 21st-23rd 2007. We had several good days out with Rosemary's parents. Here aer the spectacular gardens at Stowe in Buckinghamshire - a long way from Sri Lanka, Wednesday May 23rd 2007.

We were delighted to be able to spend some time with Janet and Robin Bull in Caversham who also as last year kindly hosted a tea for various supporters in Caversham area.  Janet and Robin provide a most helpful bridge between us us and people in UK and we are most grateful to them for their unfailingly efficient and effective support. Here's Rosemary with her eldest nieces, Zoë and Yasmin in a park in Hemel Hempstead on Friday June 1st 2007.  We are delighted to be able to still be part of their lives even though we live and work so far away. These are two of the people we miss the most. Earlier in the week we had been with Zoë on her 13th Birthday ( May 28th 2007) and had a day out with Helen, Zoë and Yasmin.

Here Rosemary plays on swings with her nieces from Belfast, Freya aged 7  (at the back) and Esme aged 5 (in the hat) with a new friend.  Rosemary's sister, Katharine, very kindly brought her daughters over to Watford to see us. for the weekend of June 2nd to 4th. They are a delightful pair!

A quieter day with Jennie walking in the countryside near Farnham on Tuesday June 5th 2007
