| Rev. Shelton left TCL in 2008. He was a very good student leader. An Anglican in the Diocese of Kurunegala, he is now serving in the tea estate town of Pussellawa where his fluency in three languages is very helpful. His aunt and uncle live with him. (pictured here at Sanath's wedding on 5th May 2010) | Rev. Vinoth, Kokila, Meshak and Georgia left TCL in 2009. They now serve in Kaluwenkerny, a poor rural village between the ocean and the main road in Chenkalady, Batticoloa. The church runs a medical centre and nursery. (21st May 2010) |

We had to cross the Batticoloa lagoon on a tiny ferry to reach Sasikumar's village of Mahiladitivu. Sasi's church is right next to a Hindu Temple with which certain difficulties had developed, but Sasi, who was renowned at TCL for his interest in other faiths, has been building a good relationship with the local Swami and things are improving. He left TCL in 2009. (Visited him 21st May 2010) |
Richard left TCL in 2010 and is now living in the manse with his mother in Sinnamathahuwaram, a small village situated on a small strip of land between the ocean and a lagoon. The church and manse had been so badly damaged by the tsunami that they had to be demolished and rebuilt. Many local people of all religions were re-housed away from the sea across the lagoon in houses built by the Methodist Church. Now many church members find it difficult to come to church because the journey is longer. (22nd May 2010) |

We visited Vathsala in her home in the town of Pussellawa together with Nuwan. We were privileged to be present for lunch on the day of the traditional pre-engagement meeting between Vathsala's family and Nuwan's family. It was particularly pleasing to be there because Vathsala is a hill country Tamil and Nuwan is Sinhalese. Vathsala left TCL in 2010 and is now posted as a lay worker at St. Paul's Church, Kandy. Nuwan is now a fourth year student. They both aim to be ordained in the Diocese of Kurunegala. (4th June 2010) |
Wasana left TCL in 2006 and has been close to Rosemary ever since Rosemary taught her batch in her first term at TCL (September 2005) She is now serving in the Koralawella Methodist Church in Moratuwa just to the south of Colombo. Her friendly, vivacious personality makes her always a pleasure to see. (10th June 2010). Wasana is currently the youngest Methodist woman clergyperson. . |

Rukshi is now entering her fourth year at TCL. She is a scholarship student who wants to be a teacher. She is the best chapel committee convenor Rosemary has dealt with. Rukshi was one of the students who went to Zambia in 2008 on the Face to Face Programme and this gave her and Rosemary an extra bond. We met her in her home in Vallechenai near Batticoloa. (20th May 2010) Rosemary has much enjoyed the company of the women students - her nangis - younger sisters - and she has tried to encourage them in their vocations, in a context where it is still not easy for ordinary women to have their own vocations. |
Manjuka left TCL in 2008 and now serves in Moratuwa where she and Wasana are able to give each other some moral support. Manjuka is an Anglican and the youngest ordained woman in the Diocese of Colombo. She came to say goodbye to Rosemary when Rosemary was at Synod in Wellawatte - Saturday June 12th 2010. Rosemary took her out to lunch. Manjuka and Rosemary got particularly friendly when they went to Hyderabad on a Conference in 2007. |
