A New Year Break in the South

| We feel very familiar with the Sri Lanka's hill country but we're not so well acquainted with the south. So we drove down from Kandy through Ratnapura where we visited a gem mine and then onto a hotel on the coast. The beach was lovely and we enjoyed the rest. Dickwella December 27th to 31st 2008 |

| On our way back we stopped at Kataragama and then drove to the hill country via the Ella Gap. Here is a picture of Ella Falls, one of the many waterfalls in the hill country. Thursday January 1st 2009 | After staying in Nuwara Eliya with our friends Rebecca and Matt Baker and Moses and Micah ( January 3rd/4th 2009), we took the long way home to Kandy and passed by the oldest tea estate in Sri Lanka. We didn't stop for a walk, only for photos. |
