| On the weekend of 29th November we attended four special church services, all trilingual (and therefore quite lengthy). The first was the ordination in Moratuwa of seven new Methodist ministers seen here with the President, Revered Ebe Joseph. | The second service was a celebration of 25 years of the ordination of women in the Methodist Church. This took place in the old mission church in Pettah in Colombo, the oldest Methodist Church in Asia. Here we see Reverends Jothini, Daisy, Wasana and Anusha outside the church before the service. Rosemary was also wearing her white sari and taking part in the service. |

| Sunday 30th November, Advent Sunday, was Kandy Methodist Church's 137th anniversary. This year it included the confirmation of two sons from TCL, Ivan Jebanesan and Emeth Karunasekara. Emeth is shown here with his parents: our neighbours and friends: Karu and Jancy and his sister Berith. | Finally, Advent Sunday, November 30th was also chosen as the date to inaugurate the new Confederation of Christian Churches, an ecumenical initiative amongst the "mainline" Protestant churches. Here we see the TCL students providing the music. There were services in different areas of the island at 5pm. The one for the Kandy area was held in the Presbyterian Church in Kandy. |

| A few days later on Monday December 8th 2008 we drove to Dickoya in the Hill Country for the ordinations as Deacons in the Diocese of Colombo of two former TCL students, Arasilarajah and Manjuka. It was Manjuka who went with Rosemary to Hyderabad in India in October 2007. | The service was conducted by the Bishop of Colombo, the Right Reverend Duleep de Chickera. These girls led the offertory procession and danced while preparations for communion were taking place. The service, also tri-lingual, was very well done and we were glad to be there. |
