Ordinations in the Dioceses of Colombo and Kurunagula

| On September 14th the first three women Anglican deacons were ordained priests in the Cathedral of Christ the Living Saviour in Colombo. They are the Reverends Chandrika Mayaurawathi, Malini Devananda and Glory Jeyaraj. The service was conducted in Sinhala, Tamil and English.. |

On Saturday September 16th 2006, at the Cathedral in Kurunagula, the other Anglican diocese, two former students from TCL were ordained Deacons together with one other who was on transfer from the Salvation Army. The service was entirely in Sinhala. |
The processions in both cathedrals included Kandyan drummers. |
