A Visit to Mihintale, near Anuradhapura.   Monday December 31st 2007

Mihintale is the place where Buddhism began in Sri Lanka.  It is a place of pilgrimage and is very beautiful.  Again tourists were sparse and the guides are finding it very hard to manage.

 A new Buddha. ...close up.
A reclining Buddha with his disciples.  A real boy monk.
