Mihintale is the place where Buddhism began in Sri Lanka. It is a place of pilgrimage and is very beautiful. Again tourists were sparse and the guides are finding it very hard to manage. |
A view from the top of the rock on which King Ashoka is said to have been converted to Buddhism. |
