Around the Methodist Conference:  Colombo 23-29th August 2006

The debates at the Methodist Conference this year included one about uniforms for ministers.  It was decided that for official functions women ministers should wear a white sari.

The British representative at the Conference was the Reverend Val Ogden. She is pictured here at the end of a session at Ministerial Conference with the President, the Reverend Ebe Joseph. Tuesday evening August 29th relaxing with Val in Colombo.

The Reverends Philip and Judith Chapman, both British Supernumerary Methodist Ministers (retired to Leominster), are currently doing a year's voluntary work as ministers, in the Hatton Circuit, based at Nuwara Eliya.  They are pictured here reading a copy of the "Methodist Recorder" outside Kollupitya Methodist Church, in Colombo. We thought the Methodist Recorder might be interested in this picture.
